"Grand Candy" JV LTD was founded in the beginning of year 2000 on the bases of the Yerevan confectionery and pasta factory. The history of the enterprise begins in 1933, when Yerevan Macarons factory was officially launched producing various pasta products. One year later Yerevan confectionery factory started working. During 17 years, there were two autonomous factories and in 1951 the above-mentioned factories were combined and one of the largest plants of those times was created. Within a very short time new premises were built and new lines for production of sugar, chocolate candies, pastry and cocoa processing were installed. After the collapse of the Soviet Union the economy of Armenia was completely destroyed. In 1990s the complex worked at 10 of its capacity. In May, 1995 confectionery and pasta industrial complex was privatizd and rename into "Armconfection" OJSC. During the following 5 years, the factory was inactive and only in the beginning of year 2000, after the change of shareholders, Armenian-Canadian joint venture "Grand Candy" Co. LTD was founded on the bases of "Armconfection" and the new management began to restore the industrial capacity of the factory, modernize the old equipment and invest in new production lines. In April 2000, after huge reconstruction works the factory gave its first production, which successfully entered Amenian market. Continuous quality control exercised by the company’s laboratory and quality control department insures stable quality flow. The result of professional and dedicated work of "Grand Candy" staff is the fact that today the name "Grand Candy" in Armenia guarantees high quality and exceptional taste.
