The long-playing record "Look" by the English ensemble "Manfred Mann's Earthband" ("Manfred Mann's Earth Orchestra") introduces the Soviet listener to hard rock music ("heavy rock").
The phenomenon of this group's popularity is unusual. When talking about British rock music of the 70s, the names of such performers and ensembles as Elton John and Led Zeppelin, Rod Stewart and Pink Floyd, David Bowie and Genesis come to mind. If we try to consciously limit our circle of interest to representatives of the hard rock style, then the ensembles "Deep Purple", "Black Sabbath" and the already mentioned ensemble "Led Zeppelin" will still come to the fore. And only a person experienced in rock music, trying to stop his choice on truly interesting representatives of hard rock, would timidly include "Manfred Mann's Earth Orchestra" among the leaders of this style.
